Hello, June

Summer has finally arrived in San Francisco, and with it comes something locals always hope for but never take for granted—sunshine. After months of layers and jackets, it feels wonderful to walk outside in shorts and a T-shirt and simply enjoy the city.

The biggest change this month has been the start of summer break for my kids. While school may be out, learning certainly isn't. This season brings a different kind of challenge: helping them develop the self-discipline to continue growing, exploring, and improving on their own.

To celebrate a successful school year, I surprised them with a new set of wheels. Beyond being a gift, I see it as an invitation to adventure—whether that's exploring local parks, riding through the city, or eventually taking those bikes on family trips to our national parks.

Watching them learn to ride brought back memories of my own childhood. I still remember how intimidating it felt in the beginning. I was fortunate to have my dad running behind me, holding onto the seat and giving me just enough confidence to keep going. Once I found my balance, progress came quickly. There were a few falls along the way, but the freedom and excitement of riding a bike made every scrape worth it.

This time history repeat itself and there were no training wheels. Sometimes the best way to learn is through the real experience itself. Riding a bike teaches a powerful lesson about the connection between the mind and the body—how confidence, repetition, and trust eventually turn uncertainty into instinct.

As I watched my kids learn, I couldn't help but draw parallels to real estate and financial planning. Most of us have seen homes bought and sold throughout our lives, so the process appears familiar. Yet when it's our turn to sit in the rider's seat, things suddenly become more complicated. Without the proper guidance, structure, and sequence of events, even a straightforward transaction can feel overwhelming.

Parenting constantly reminds me that what may seem obvious to one person is often entirely new to another. The same principle applies in my profession. Every client comes with a different level of knowledge and experience, and clear communication is essential. Assumptions can be costly—in both time and money. My responsibility is to provide clarity, guidance, and confidence every step of the way.

Every skill I've developed throughout my life has reinforced the same philosophy: find the most effective path, continue refining it, and execute it so smoothly that it appears effortless to those watching from the outside.

That brings me to the second highlight of June—the FIFA World Cup 2026.

I have been completely captivated by the tournament. From the opening celebrations across North America to the excitement building around every match, the energy has been impossible to ignore. As a soccer fan, it's incredible to see the world's biggest sporting event taking place so close to home.

One of my favorite experiences was attending a watch party at Oracle Park. Knowing traffic and parking would be challenging, I took my scooter and enjoyed a surprisingly smooth ride through the city's bike lanes. The atmosphere was fantastic. Thousands of fans gathered together, sharing every moment of excitement, tension, and celebration on the giant screen.

What stood out most wasn't just the match itself—it was the sense of community. Sports have a unique way of bringing people together. For a few hours, strangers become teammates, united by a common passion and the hope of seeing something special happen.

The tournament has reminded me how important it is to make time for the things that bring us joy. Between work, family responsibilities, and daily routines, it's easy to postpone experiences that energize us. Yet those moments often become the memories we carry with us the longest.

As the World Cup continues, I plan to enjoy as much of it as possible and look forward to sharing more reflections after the tournament concludes.
